Scoot Or Die
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Scoot Or Die
Scoot or Die is not yet released, and this version is only a demo. There is no boss. Some things might be broken or poorly explained. We are looking for feedback on how we can improve the game. If you have anything to share, we would love to hear about it in the comments! The final version will be paid, but the demo is free, so go ahead and download it, copy it, keep it forever, share it...we don't care! Just have fun and let us know what you think!
Fight your way across the desert on your motorcycle, armed with anything you can find. Explore the wasteland to find valuable supply trucks, trains, new towns, and plenty of riders who want you dead.
Race against the clock to slay these enemies and harvest their oil, then spend it in town to upgrade your bike. Wield powerful weapons like flamethrowers, landmines, machine guns, and rocket launchers. Equip a strong shield to defend yourself and install bike modifications to gain special advantages.
Scoot or Die is a bite-size, open-world roguelike that only takes 15 minutes to complete one playthrough. There are many ways to build your bike, so try some different combinations!
Install instructions
Mac Users - Apple recently changed the way MacOS handles apps from unidentified developers (such as us). The game is not a security threat, but Apple might treat it as one. This only occurs because we have not paid Apple for a Developer Certificate.
If you download the ZIP file, you may need to tell Mac to Keep it. Then if you open the ZIP file and attempt to run the game, you may be presented with a message that reads: "Scoot or Die" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash.
It isn't damaged, it is being quarantined. If you still want to play, you can get around this issue with a single command in your Terminal window. We know this is complicated and apologize for you having to do this, and for the users who don't get to play because of this extra step. The command is:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine <path to scoot or die>
Where <path to scoot or die> is the path to the game (not the ZIP file). (You can click and drag the game from a Finder window to Terminal and it will copy the path. Don't forget a space!)
Press Enter and now you should be able to open the game. Again, doing this sucks and we are sorry. We will be sure to purchase a membership to the Apple Developer Program before release of the full game.
